I had some work here and there
but i thought of clearing the awkward air
you clearly guessed i had to leave
as i sat flushed looking at my feet
my painted toes played with each other
while you got up slowly to play the blues
I looked up, rather confused
perhaps I'd skip that urgent appointment
as you and me jive ............
